  • Not at all. Many players are completely new to tabletop roleplaying games.

Part of the benefit of a professional storyteller is having a guide for beginners, leading them step-by-step and ensuring everyone feels comfortable participating at their own pace.

  • Most sessions run 3–4 hours. Youth sessions can be shorter depending on age and attention span.

  • Games can be hosted:

    • In your home

    • At an agreed-upon public or rented venue

    • Online via virtual tabletop

I primarily serve Northern Virginia and surrounding areas for in-person sessions.

  • The ideal group size is 4–6 players. This allows everyone meaningful spotlight time while maintaining strong pacing. Larger groups may require custom planning.

  • Yes. Safety is extremely important at a table. Whether it be using X-Cards, Fade-to-black, or Consent forms, I incorporate a collaborative method to ensure players feel comfortable and respected.

  • Not at all. Participation happens at each player’s comfort level. Some players enjoy performing; others prefer describing actions. Both approaches are equally valid.

  • A session includes:

    • Session preparation

    • A custom adventure designed and planned around themes you want to explore

    • Rule facilitation and guidance

    • All materials needed for play

    • Structured pacing and spotlight management

You are not just hiring someone to “run a game.” You are hiring a professional storyteller to craft and guide the experience for you and your group.

Logistics & Policies

  • No, all materials necessary to play are provided, unless something special is discussed in advance. I provide what is necessary for play. If a player has their own dice, they are absolutely encouraged to bring and use them!

  • Food and drinks are welcome, provided the table remains functional for game materials. Alcohol may be served for groups where all participants are 21 or older.

  • Yes. Travel within Northern Virginia is available. Additional travel fees may apply depending on the distance from Arlington.

  • Yes. One-shots and custom adventures can be designed for birthdays, celebrations, or special gatherings.

  • For private groups, sessions typically proceed as scheduled, provided at least 4 players are attending. Campaign adjustments can be discussed if needed.

  • Not typically, special circumstances may require a deposit, however, and will be discussed in advance of confirming any booking dates.

  • Games can be cancelled as much as 24 hours in advance at no charge. Within 24 hours, a 50% charge will be billed to you.

Any game can be rescheduled, even the same day, should emergencies arise.

Youth Games

  • Youth games are typically designed for ages 10 and up. Games for kids as young as 8 can be accommodated, but often require special consideration. Sessions are always organized to ensure age-appropriate content and social dynamics.

  • Expectations are set clearly at the beginning of each session and during play. My approach focuses on structure, encouraging positive interaction, and gently guiding respect for each other. The goal is always to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone at the table.

  • Yes, if desired. Some families prefer to observe quietly, especially during early sessions. Parents are also encouraged to be a player in a game with their children as well.

Private Campaigns & One-Shots

  • A one-shot is a self-contained adventure completed in a single session.

A campaign is an ongoing story that unfolds over multiple sessions, with character development and evolving stakes.

  • Many campaigns run 8–12 sessions, though longer arcs are available depending on group interest.

  • For campaigns, yes. One-shots usually utilize pregenerated characters, but if a group wants to create their own, that can often be accommodated as well. Character creation can be done together during a Session 0 or prepared beforehand with guidance.

  • Session 0 is a planning session where we:

    • Ask and answer questions

    • Decide on a game system

    • Create characters

    • Discuss tone and themes

    • Set expectations

It ensures the campaign is aligned with where everyone is at and what they want out of the game.

  • We suredly may! Check out our Current Campaigns section and see if any of them have an open seat and you’d be interested in joining them!

Team-Building Events

  • Corporate sessions are more structured experiences designed around collaboration, communication, and creative problem-solving. They are explicitly tailored to your team’s needs and goals.

  • No. Sessions are designed to be accessible and welcoming to complete beginners.

  • Not at all. Any game materials (such as character sheets, dice, etc) are provided by the storyteller.

If members of the team would like to read about any rules or character options in advance, those materials can be provided prior to a game session.
